I kind of do. It's summer. His little black face and fuzzy, black head of hair was making Judah all kinds of sweaty in the heat of the sun.
As soon as the clippers started, I became panic stricken. My voice on the video is calm and collected compared to what I was feeling. Terror took over. Nauseous and sweat instantly came over me.It's crazy because I'm not that kind of "hair" person. I've done a hundred different cuts and colors to my own hair. "It'll grow back...it's just hair" has been my motto. But watching my son's first hair cut - his beautiful, fuzzy curls falling off his head in chunks.
I couldn't handle it. We weren't just BUZZING his head; we were SHAVING it to the scalp! I've been mourning to an extent all day.
During...he was fascinated with all his hair!!!

After. Brian's proud that both daddy and son have bald heads. I miss his curls...but his eyes certainly pop even more.
Let's just say that it'll be a while before Addise gets her hair cut. And it won't be with clippers.
He is such a cutie, April. Oh, and look at those BEAUTIFUL eyes! I'm also way more attached to Mikayla's hair than my own. Isn't it funny how that works?
ReplyDeleteI had flashes of Don King in my head while watching! He's super-cute either way. :)
ReplyDeleteahhh yes. i remember those days. good job daddy!!
ReplyDeletePrecisely why my daughter has never once had scissors to her head! She's like Samson...the curls at the bottom of her long hair were the ones on her head when she came out of me!
ReplyDeleteAlthough, she's begging me to get a "big girl" hair cut before her first day of kindergarten...yikes!
I have to say that's the funniest thing we've seen in a while... Andy and I were both in tears watching (and rewatching) the video!! And it's true - he's a doll either way :)
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for all the sweet comments on my blog while we were gone (I was finally able to read them all once we got out of china!)
Oh, April! That's a priceless video. I would have croaked too, such a drastic change, but he does look great. When I was giving Marcus a haircut this summer he moved and we ended up with a MUCH shorter cut than I was going for. I kind of panicked - but now am so glad it is so short for this crazy heat.
ReplyDeleteAdorable...you should have repositioned some of the shaved hair to give him a little gotee and a moustache..hahaha...eyebrows too. Maybe next time. Thanks for posting your life moments. They are wonderful.
